MAT’s UCV integrally mounted rigid and retractable pendants provide a cost-effective method of delivering electrical and medical gas services to the operating team and offer ease of access both during surgery and for maintenance.  Designed specifically for fitting within the return air collar of the UCV canopy, they negate the need for additional primary structural supports outside the UCV canopy footprint.

Quick and easy to install with minimal loading, they are ideal for retrofit projects.  They are extremely reliable and require little maintenance.  The rigid pendant is also available with a telescopic retractable section, which can be adjusted to position the services at the required height.

MAT’s UCV integrally mounted multi-movement pendant provides a fully adjustable overhead services system, offering 270° rotation and height adjustable between 1.7m (lowest) and 2.0m (parked) positioning.  Designed specifically for fitting within the return air collar of the UCV canopy, it negates the need for additional primary structural supports outside the UCV canopy footprint.

This pendant delivers electrical and medical gas services close to the operating table where required, to support both surgical and anaesthetic equipment.  It requires minimum effort, and the arms can easily be rotated and electrically raised or lowered, as necessary.

MAT’s UCV media bridge is designed specifically for operating theatres with ultraclean ventilation (UCV) systems but can also be adapted for conventional theatres.  Electrical and medical gas services are mounted on the media bridge on any side that is fitted around the edge of the ultraclean canopy, ensuring services are close to the clinical clean zone.

The media bridge can be single, two, three or four-sided, distributing services around the canopy and providing greater flexibility within the operating field.

Lateral movement equipment pendants can be either single arm or articulated arm architectural systems designed to carry a

vertical service console to provide electrical and medical gas services to the operating theatre team.

The vertical service console also has the capacity to be fitted with shelving to accommodate many medical devices.  Each

bearing is capable of 330° rotation but please note these pendants are not suitable for mounting within the footprint of UCV canopy.

Vertical and lateral multi-movement equipment pendants can be either single arm or articulated arm architectural systems.  They are designed to carry a vertical or horizontal service console to provide electrical and medical gas services to the operating theatre team. This type of pendant offers the highest level of manoeuvrability and flexibility to the operating team.  The vertical service console also has the capacity to be fitted with shelving to accommodate many medical devices.

The horizontal service console is designed so it can be parked at 2.0m height and tucked out of the way but cannot accommodate shelving.  Each bearing is capable of 330° rotation but please note these pendants are not suitable for mounting within the footprint of UCV canopy.

The TCP is the central focus for specialist equipment controls and infrastructure alarms for many of the building services supporting the operating suite.  This has two main benefits: it allows the users to have only one familiar source of information, and it lets the facilities staff easily inspect and monitor several different subsystems.

Designed to fit flush within 100mm wall depth, the touchscreen TCPs we offer are hygienic and easy to clean.  They are also future-proofed in that new and updated graphics can easily be uploaded as the operating theatre evolves.

Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) workstations are linked directly to hospital information systems (HIS) and radiological information systems (RIS), allowing operating theatre staff direct access to patient records and images.  Designed to fit flush within 100mm wall depth and with a washable keyboard, they are hygienic and easy to clean.  Patient records can be updated in real time.

Display monitors are available as single or double combinations in either landscape or portrait orientation.  As the use of health information technology becomes ever more widespread, PACS are increasingly becoming a vital component of any modern operating theatre.

Surgical LED task lighting provides much more than just illumination. Modern theatres require advanced design and performance that eliminates shadows, minimising heat gains in the room and provides true colour rendering. Minimising air turbulence is also important, especially when being used in a UCV canopy.

Operating lights can also be fitted with a surgical camera and support additional display monitor arm systems. They are supplied with a dedicated 3-hour battery back-up to ensure that even in the height of any electrical infrastructure crisis, patient safety is not compromised.

MAT AV solutions offer video-over-IP based audio and video management system inside the operating room and beyond, enabling flexible video routing between sources and displays for a wide range of applications. They are suitable for simple local and live scenarios right through to fully integrated consulting and conferencing solutions.

Additional medical video such endoscopic cameras can easily be connected via a simple plug and play function, and also support control of surgical lights, operating tables, room cameras and environmental controls etc.

MAT is the UK supplier of Toul Meditech mobile laminar flow units. These ergonomic units deliver an ultraclean, horizontal flow of air directly over the surgical instruments or minor wound site, minimising the presence of bacteria-carrying particles.

The mobile laminar flow unit is available in three models that can be used in conjunction with one another:

• SteriStay – protective instrument table
• Operio – sterile air zone unit
• Operio – ceiling-mounted sterile air zone unit

MAT’s self-contained lay-up cabinets operate in the preparation room. They provide a superior micro-environment of HEPA filtered air, protecting surgical instruments from airborne contamination, reducing bioburden to help in the fight against SSI, and releasing the potential of the sterile pack store.

The lay-up cabinet offers a raft of benefits and has low running costs. Installation is easy and no theatre downtime is required.

MAT provides IPS for circuits supplying medical electrical life-support equipment. These areas are classified as either Group 2 or Clinical Category 4 or 5. They provide protection for both patients and staff within hospitals to ensure high levels of electrical supply continuity and safety are achieved. IPS ensures there are no interruptions to supply or electric shock hazards.

A Medical IT Power Supply System is recommended over traditional standard TN Earthed Supply systems as it has the advantage of monitoring the insulation level and eliminating the possibility of tripped MCBs.

MAT provides UPS and associated external maintenance bypass panels to deliver emergency power back up. UPS systems are an important part of a hospital’s power supply infrastructure, providing power in the event of a supply failure.

IEC 60364-7-710 and HTM06-01 state that in the event of loss of power, all the medical locations where isolated power is installed (that is, Group 2 and Clinical Category 5 locations) require power to be resumed (for life supporting equipment) within a maximum of 0.5 seconds.

MAT provides equipotential earth bonding bars, designed to help create the same electrical potential (to within 0.1 ohms) between itself all bonded metal objects in the Group 2 medical location.

These ensure easy visual inspection and identification of connected circuits and improve safety for patients and clinical staff.
