Our lovely city is regularly used as a stand-in for New York - with its brownstone buildings, narrow side streets and exterior fire escapes, the Northern Quarter is a dead ringer for the Big Apple and has appeared in many films, including 'Captain America: the First Avenger' and 'Morbius'. Famously, it doubled as the Lower East Side for the scene in 'The Crown' where Princess Diana visits the Henry Street Settlement.

The Northern Quarter is just a short walk from the exhibition centre and definitely worth a visit if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the UK's largest event for healthcare engineering and estates management professionals for a little while. As you walk, look out for familiar locations from 'Peaky Blinders' and many other television series too - you might even see some filming underway.
