Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP)
Working with main contractors and hospital clinical teams and estates departments, Medical Air Technology has the skills and experience to carry out full mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) solutions as part of wider new build or refurbishment projects.
Our MEP package is very flexible and is ideal for operating theatre suites, including those built using modular construction. Scope of MEP work may include all M&E services and full fit-out, including ECO-flow ultraclean ventilation (UCV) canopies, operating theatre lights, PACS, theatre panels and IPS/UPS.
The MEP package can also be used in other patient care areas. In a recent neonatal unit project encompassing cot rooms, ITU/HDU, parent rooms and staff areas, we designed and installed full mechanical and electrical services and plumbing and domestic water throughout, including the fire safety system, as well as the nurse call system and alarms.
In order to create the calmest possible environment for parent and baby, the MAT team developed a dimmable ‘scene setting’ lighting system, used where appropriate throughout the unit. Noise reduction was also an important consideration. MAT is well known for its critical ventilation expertise, which was called upon in this setting to deliver a vent system that operates to just NR30, a low level that ensures the minimum amount of potentially disturbing background noise.
