Hard to believe it's ten years this summer since we were at The McIndoe Centre in East Grinstead, completing the first stage of the hospital's new ultraclean ventilation (UCV) operating theatre suite. 

The design of the ECO-flow canopy has evolved since then, with the introduction of the flush-to-ceiling Stealth model, but the core principle - the reduction of bioburden and airborne bacteria for safer surgery - remains the same, in line with the requirements of HTM 03-01 (2021). 

This supports hospitals in the fight against surgical site infection, one of the most frequently reported types of healthcare-associated infection.
