Net Zero targets - Scope 1,2 & 3

MAT is pleased to share that we have a defined and measurable Carbon Reduction Strategy (CRS) in place, in line with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.

We all have a responsibility to operate in an environmentally-responsible manner. The GHG Protocol provides a standardised framework for companies to measure, manage, and reduce their total carbon footprint across direct operations and entire supply chain.

A base year of 2023 has been selected. We have a business-wide commitment to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 28% by 2030 and reach Net Zero for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2035. Scope 1 covers direct greenhouse

gases from company-owned sources, such as cars and factory machinery. Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from purchased energy, such as electricity.

We are also currently underway with our Scope 3 Net Zero review and are actively engaging our key supply chain partners in defining objectives and pathways to achieving Scope 3 Net Zero by 2040. Scope 3 includes all other indirect emissions up and down the supply and value chain, for example goods and services bought from suppliers, and is usually the largest part of a company's footprint.
