Medical Air Technology designs a new UCV theatre for Nuffield Health's North Staffordshire Hospital

At the heart of the new theatre is its ultraclean ventilation (UCV) canopy. The new canopy is from MAT's ECO-flow™

range, designed to significantly reduce energy usage and cost, without any reduction in the Level of efficacy. Energy efficiency is achieved through innovative internal design and the introduction of infinitely variable-speed DC motors, while highly efficient centrifugal fans reduce the energy drain required for cooling. LED cruciform Lighting has also been added to the ECO-flow™ canopies, which use up to 60% Less power than other similar canopies, even in full ultraclean mode.

Medical Air Technology (MAT) has completed another project with Nuffield Health at its hospital in North Staffordshire. MAT was brought in to undertake the major redesign and rebuild of an existing small endoscopy room, developing it into an operating theatre fully equipped for ultraclean surgery. This has enabled the hospital to extend its theatre capacity to offer the more complex procedures that can be delivered in an ultraclean environment. and is part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring that the people of North Staffs have access to the best clinical care.
